The new processor is meant for high-end smartphones and has an integrated encoder and decoder used for both capturing and playing back of 1,080-pixel videos. It also provides relatively quick 3D graphics. The processor runs at 1GHz and seems to be the fastest LP-DDR memory of the industry, with a certain cut down on access times.

The ARMADA 618 relies on the ARM7 architecture and has only a 12mm square footprint. LP-DDR1 or LP-DDR2 RAM up to 533MHz is compatible. The display controller is able to drive up to four displays simultaneously with a maximum resolution of 2K by 2K. DirectX, OpenVG 1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0 are supported. Compatibility with Linux, Windows Mobile and Android operating systems is provided and the processor is optimized for Adobe Flash.

The ARMADA 600 series of application processors can be used for high-end products like smartphones, tablets and e-book readers. The chip manufacturer Marvell will present the ARMADA 618 processor at the Mobile World Congress show.

The upcoming Barracuda XT is compatible with an user interface that is two times more energetic that earlier hard drives.

Complementing the upcoming SATA interface, Marvell company presented the innovative controller entitled 88SE9128 6Gb/s RAID. This type of controller is was compulsory development because it enables customers to operate storage matrixes with stuff such as mirroring the data in search for redundancy. The innovative RAID controller doubles the bandwidth which existed prior to the device`s development.

Marvell states that it has been working along with mainboard manufacturers such as ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI in order to launch on the market the mainboard with the new 6Gb/s RAID device. Companies Micron, Seagate and Samsung plan to manufacture drivers which support the new SATA speeds and make full good use of their capacities. Marvell Company is currently sampling the upcoming RAID controller to the first place OEMs and the gadget is going to be produced on a mass scale starting with the fourth quarter of 2009.
