The EX-G1 can support drops of seven feet and is dustproof and waterproof at up to ten feet depths for up to one hour. Winter temperatures as low as -10ºC (14ºF) are also supported and allow travellers to use it outdoors during the season.

The 12.1-megapixel camera’s specific feature is an interval shooting taking captures at regular periods. It is useful for people who cannot take pictures (snowboarders for example) or want to create time-lapse videos. The camera has an optical 3× zoom and shoots movies in 480-pixel widescreen, shows fully automatic scene settings and sports an underwater preset. Casio keeps the size small by using microSDHC cards for storage. The EX-G1 will be ready in December and will be available for purchasing at a price of $300 in two colour options, red and black.

Two Exilim cameras by Casio – the EX-FH25 and the EX-FC150 http://www.htlounge.net/art/9614/two-exilim-cameras-by-casio-%e2%80%93-the-ex-fh25-and-the-ex-fc150.html http://www.htlounge.net/art/9614/two-exilim-cameras-by-casio-%e2%80%93-the-ex-fh25-and-the-ex-fc150.html#comments Thu, 26 Nov 2009 21:35:46 +0000 adina http://www.htlounge.net/?p=9614 Two Exilim cameras were upgraded to focus on low-light image quality. These are the EX-FH25 superzoom and the EX-FC150 compact, both having backlit Exmor R CMOS sensors, like the Sony TX1. This helps to take in more light and to improve the detail for both portraits of backlit subjects and night scenes. Both models sport dedicated scene modes.

The flagship of the series is still the EX-FH25 camera with ten megapixels and 20× optical zoom. The resolution could drop to nine megapixels when shooting at 40 frames per second, more than the FH20 with seven frames per second. Both the FH25 and the FC150 with 5× zoom can shoot 720-pixel video and provide hardware image stabilization.

Both cameras are planned to ship to Japan on November 27th and prices are equivalent to $558 for the EX-FH25 and $447 for the EX-FC150. An American release is not yet planned but is possible in the future, as Casio already sells the new cameras’ predecessors in the United States.
