WMWifiRouter to share the web with your friends

Let's see. You've got yourself a 3G-capable Windows Mobile device that also happens to have a WiFi radio embedded within.

Did you know that could combine these two wireless technologies to share the web with your friends? That's exactly the objective behind the appropriately named WMWifiRouter.


The application is absolutely free -- although they appreciate any donations you're willing to provide -- and it essentially allows your Windows Mobile device to connect to the web through a 3G connection, and then share that connection via WiFi to any compatible devices in the area. This functions in a similar way as tethering your smartphone to your laptop, except the sharing is done via WiFi.

You will naturally need a crazy 3G data plan if you want to use WMWifiRouter. Otherwise, you can surely expect to get a huge bill at the end of the month.
