New Speaker Device for iPods: PodXtreme

This is a trend that is gaining traction with every passing gadget released. We're talking about the proliferation of public speakers for MP3 players. Although you see a pair of earbuds nearly everywhere you look in a crowd these days, accessory-makers aren't resting on their laurels (or their profits). No, they're busy making new things for iPods, Zunes, iRivers, Sanwas, and the other variants of DAP that so highly populate the music-listening public these days.


That rather android-looking device in the photo is the PodXtreme, an add-on designed for the iPod that plugs in and pumps out whatever your iPod is jamming on. The PodXtreme has a separate volume control, for more listening flexibility.

The price is rather right, at just US$30. And even though "Pod" is in the title, it's not at all iPod-specific. The PodXtreme needs only a standard audio jack.
