Something that deters many people from splurging on a digital camcorder is the perceived weight of such a device. Well, just as everything else in the world of electronics is getting smaller, thinner, and lighter, the same can be said about video recorders like the Canon DC50. Currently on display at P&I (Photo and Imaging) Show 2007 in Seoul, the Canon DC50 digital camcorder is feather light at a mere 480 grams.

According to Canon, this handheld memory maker was developed for "high-vision video recording", whatever that means. Key features include an optical image stabilizer, 5.0 megapixel CCD sensor, Dolby Digital sound, DVD-R DL support, and DIGIC DV. No word on pricing or availability at this time.
