Nikon 360 Camera Concept With 360 Degrees Rotating Lens

The first thing you have to remember about this camera is that it's a concept. It might be a reality someday, but for now it's just a theory.

It's a nice theory, though. It even has a model number.

It's the Nikon 360, from the mind of designer Ye Chen, and its model name describes its effectiveness. The lens rotates a full 360 degrees, enabling you to create your own panoramas without having to get all PhotoShop-happy.


As the photo can attest, this concept camera has the usual particulars that you'd want in a digital camera, like zoom button and LCD and SD card slot and USB port. That's all standard stuff that wouldn't sell this camera more than any other model. What would sell this model is the panoramic capacity, which should be a fan of anyone who's been to the Grand Canyon or on top of a mountain or stood anywhere and begged for a camera that could take one long shot instead of a series of bits and pieces.

Here's hoping this concept becomes a reality, complete with video options as well.
