There's no denying that this phone bears some resemblance to a certain slim flip phone, but then again, there are countless handsets on the market that take on this form factor. What sets the current offering apart from the rest of the competition, however, is that it's got solar panels completely covering the front face. As a result, you may never need to tether yourself to a wall outlet ever again.
Designed and promoted by Beijing Hengjiweiye, this unnamed cell phone probably comes with the usual set of features you'd expect like a built-in camera and media player, but the details are pretty sketchy at this point. Because the solar panels cover up the whole front fascia, there appears to be a small single-line external display near the bottom.
On display at China Beijing International Expo 2007, the solar powered cell phone is probably just a concept for now, but it does point towards what may be possible in the future. A solar-powered RAZR 3, perhaps?
