My5 Canadians Service Operates Same Way as MyFaves

Sometimes, it's great to be Canadian. We get universal health care, a strong hockey tradition (Go Sens!), and the proud knowledge that we are the second largest nation in the world based on land mass. Unfortunately for us poor Canucks, however, we are typically late to the game when it comes to anything regarding technology. Rogers Wireless has always been a step or two behind T-Mobile or Cingular, and they're continuing that trend with their own take on MyFaves, dubbing their service My5.

Bearing in mind that T-Mobile was the one that copied Alltel's MyCircle, Rogers Wireless is even further behind. From what I can gather, My5 operates much the same way as MyFaves, placing your five favorite phone numbers on your phone's main screen, granting you quick and easy access to unlimited calls and text messaging. Compatible with nearly every phone in their lineup, My5 can be had as part of a Mega Value Plan or as an a la carte option for $10 a month (on select plans).

I didn't see anything on the Rogers website mentioning any sort of download, however, so there is a distinct possibility that there is no actual application involved. If this is the case, then there's no quick access menu either. Any Rogers rep want to clarify this issue?
