HTC-powered T-Mobile Wing With 2.8-inch QVGA Display

I've been itching to get a device like this for some time now, but I've been having a hard time convincing myself to take the plunge. I want so much out of my phone these days and handsets of the touchscreen-less and QWERTY-less variety just aren't as sexy to me as they used to be. That's why I could possibly consider the latest HTC-powered offering from the crew at T-Mobile. The T-Mobile Wing is a mild upgrade to the aging MDA and it is based on the same HTC Hermes platform as its Cingular/AT&T 8525 cousin.
The processor -- a 201MHz TI OMAP 850 unit -- is definitely a little dated, as are the rest of the hardware side of things with its 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, EDGE, 2 megapixel camera, and USB 1.1, but thankfully it's also got a brilliant 2.8-inch QVGA display, quad-band GSM, 802.11b/g WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0. These specs aren't nearly as impressive as when the MDA was first launched so many moons ago. The upgrade is fairly mild.
However, you'll find that the T-Mobile Wing is powered by Windows Mobile 6, providing users with a speedier and more efficient experience. It also comes pre-installed with Windows Live Suite, including search and Live Messenger. The rubbery feel is also very nice, and it's great that the Wing is thinner than the MDA. All in all, Jason Chen of Gizmodo recommends the upgrade, but he also notes that AT&T 8525 owners aren't missing out as there is little to differentiate the two units anyhow.
