Nokia Series 60 Trojan, a Malicious Virus That Extra Charges Cell Phone Bill

Uh oh. There's a nasty Trojan horse on the loose and if it gets itself installed on your Nokia Series 60 handset, it'll start sending out SMS messages to several premium websites. What results from this malicious virus are a series of extra charges on your cell phone bill, because messages sent to those sites offering "premium ringtone downloads and other services" charge anywhere between $1 and $10 per message.
The folks at Kapersky Labs have managed to nip this Trojan -- Troja-SMS.Symb.OS.Viver -- in the bud, but you might want to make sure that you haven't already been affected. The virus hides itself and is oftentimes disguised "as a useful photo editor or video codec pack."
Gizmodo discovered an interesting way to protect your phone against such attacks. Check the vid to find out how they did it. The strategy involves a girl in a hot tub.
