If you're the proud owner of a T-Mobile Dash, HTC S621, or any other variant of the HTC Excalibur platform, then this newest smartphone offering from Asus will look eerily familiar. At least it did for me, because the Asus M530w has several similarities to its HTC counterpart, including the candybar-like appearance (similar to the Motorola Q), solid silver band across the center, and the landscape-oriented color display.
The Asus M530w does all the things that you'd expect from a business-oriented QWERTY device, including push email, data management, Office viewer, PDF viewer, and yes, even an integrated Windows Media Player capable of showing full screen movies. There's also a pair of built-in "brain teaser" games and a 2.0 megapixel auto-macro camera for pictures on the fly.
It's certainly a formidable entry into the ever-crowded QWERTY PDA phone market, but the Asus M530w has yet to receive pricing or availability information.
