8GB microSD Card for Cell Phones From Samsung

I'm pretty sure that you'll need some sort of firmware upgrade before your phone will recognize a card of this capacity, but Samsung has bumped the microSD format into the next frontier with the announcement of an 8GB card. They claim that this is enough space to store five DVD-quality movies.
Mobile phone users continually demand more storage capacity for their high-resolution photographs and MP3 collections, and as such, Samsung and the rest of the Flash memory community will continue to push forward with more memory in smaller packages. What's more, this new 8GB microSD boasts a peak read speed of 16MBps and a peak write speed of 6MBps. This is in adherence to the Class 6 rating standard, and there aren't too many cards that achieve that level of performance.
No word on availability, compatibility, or pricing.
