USB Extender from X-key With a Cable Up to 150 Feet

All manner of things run via USB these days: printers, scanners, fans, heaters, air guitars. Some of these have more space needs than others. If you're like me and you might like to go farther than 2 feet away from your PC and still be able to use a USB device, then you'll want to look in to something like the USB Extender from X-keys.


This handy device comes with a cable that reaches up to 150 feet, which should be more than enough to accommodate all your USB needs. I like the idea that you don't have to install any software to use it and that it plays nice with Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems.

What I'm not sold on at the moment is the price: US$79.95. The CAT-5 cable capability is nice and all, but those things seem to be a dime a dozen these days. However, the good thing about a product like this is that you avoid the sort of contamination that you might get if you were operating via a wireless hub.
