Three Versions Successful Motorola RAZR 2

I remember when the original RAZR came out, everyone was in awe. Up until then, no one designed a (successful) phone quite like it. It was ridiculously thin (by the standards of the day), it was made of metal, and it actually worked quite well. Motorola made a lot of money and now they're not quite ready to cast that branding aside.

Although some may say that the KRZR is the spiritual successor to the RAZR, these new phones -- refered to as the RAZR 2 in many circles -- are the true follow-up. Right now, there are three versions of the RAZR 2 to speak of. The V9 has 3G HSDPA, the V9m has EVDO CDMA, and the V8 has straight-up GSM. Other than the cellular radios they hold, the trio are virtually identical.

Among the first things that you'll notice about the new RAZR 2 are that it boasts a very shiny shell, a stark contrast to the matte finish found on the original. There's also a huge 2.0-inch color display on the outside, in addition to the 2.2-inch QVGA display on the inside. Other key features include a 2.0 megapixel camera, independent speech recognition, touch music keys, Windows Media 11, a Linux-based UI, HTML Opera browser, up to 280 hours of standby, up to 500 minutes of talk time, and a weight of about 117 grams.
