LG Prada Phone The Ultra-exclusive Handset

It seems that LG wants to market the Prada Phone as an ultra-exclusive handset that oozes with prestige. What better way to do that than to make it the most expensive cell phone released this year in Korea. It is also the most expensive Korea-bound phone in LG's company history. What's this astronomical price, you might ask? To be sold through SK Telecom and LG Telecom, the Prada Phone will retail for 880,000 won. That works out to about US$950!


Contrast this to the €600 asking price in Europe and the $780 asking price in the rest of Asia. Sure, the LG Prada Phone has cool stuff like mobile TV and a touch-sensitive display, but $950 can get you a whole lot more than "just a phone."

According to LG, this price "accomodates the stylish design, cutting-edge features and accessories of the product, and the prestige concept will be reflected on the marketing campaign." Prestigious because it's expensive. Let's see if that works out for them.
