Pantech Unveils Dual-LCD Phone

Some things work better in pairs. The Intel Core Duo is a good example. Stereo speakers are another. Why not have two LCDs on a phone?

Pantech have answered that question with "Why not indeed?" The result is the IM-R200, a slider special that hides one LCD behind another. That main screen is the larger of the two, measuring in at 2 inches and sporting a QVGA display. The secondary display is an 1.6-inch OLED.

That secondary display is a touchscreen that takes the place of a keypad, song playlist, or camera buttons. Speaking of camera, the IM-R200 has a pair of those as well, a straightforward 2-megapixel shorter and a VGA camera with face recognition technology built right in.

By now, you're wondering about release date and pricing. We have neither, mainly because Pantech is launching this phone in South Korea as the SKY. When will it hit the North American or European markets? Your guess is as good as ours.
