Promises For 2009: Intel Work On A 24 Hour Notebook Battery Life

I have a new laptop which has much improved battery life over my last model, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Intel feels my pain, and if I can wait to 2009 they promise a solution. Moorestown, their next generation ultra-portable platform promises 24 hours of battery life in a sub-notebook. Obviously that would take some impressive work - the multi-core CPU, GPU and memory will all be combined on a single chip, and DDR3 and SSD drives will be used to minimize power drain. If they can realize those plans and achieve those ambitious goals then the world will truly be a better place, but those are big ifs.
