DirecTV Releases Sat-Go, The Suitcase TV Receiver

That satellite-TV-in-a-box that we told you about in January is now a reality. Yes, DirecTV has officially given us Sat-Go, the suitcase TV receiver that you can take into the wild with you. No more sitting around the campfire and wondering whether the Red Sox won another close one. No, you can tune in and see Manny hit one out for yourself. (Looked at another way, the Sat-Go can enable you to extend the tailgate party to last the entire game, and you can catch all the action without entering the stadium.)
You'll want to consult your budget carefully before you get too excited about this little item, because it costs a lot more than a suitcase (even an expensive one). The going price on the Sat-Go—to start with, anyway—is US$1,499. We presume that the price will fall as demand grows. For now, that's what it costs.
No installation is necessary for this 17-inch lithium ion-powered device. All you need is line of sight to DirecTV's suite of satellites in the sky.
