American Airlines Test Program Offering PMPs to Passengers

It's yet another benefit of traveling first class, and it's coming to an American Airlines near you (possibly) sometime soon.
American will soon begin a four-month test program offering PMPs to passengers. Specifically, the PMP will be the Archos 704, for transcontinental flyers, and the Archos 604 for select flights within the U.S. If you're in coach, you'll pay a rental fee; first class passengers get the things for free.
Pre-installed programming will include up to 12 feature films, up to 15 hours of TV (including news, music videos, and series), and 14 audio channels. You'll also have access to a stable of MP3s.
The Archos 704 will be accompanied by Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise headphones; users of the Archos 604 will get plain old earbuds.
Here's hoping the trail is a success.
