The Fastest Graphics Processing Unit From NVIDIA

Hardcore gamers will surely drool all over this announcement by NVIDIA, the company that has just unveiled the GeForce 8800 Ultra. They claim that this is the world's fastest graphics processing unit (GPU) to date, performing an average of 10-15% faster than the GeForce 8800 GTX across a wide range of top games and applications. If you're looking for the "definitive gaming platform", then you'll want to pair the GeForce 8800 Ultra GPU with an nForce 680i SLI-based moetherboard.
I'm not much of a gamer, so the graphics card I have on the desktop is pretty laughable with its 128MB of dedicated memory. By contrast, NVIDIA is shipping graphics cards that marry the GeForce 8800 Ultra GPU with 768MB of video memory. Even the most high-tech of computer games will be no match for such a combination.
Naturally, with all this beef comes a fairly hefty price. To ship May 15th, prices for these powerful graphics cards will start at $829. For that same price, you can get a whole computer!
