Dell Computers to Install Ubuntu, A Linux For Human Beings

Although we havent't received any sort of official confirmation from the people at Dell, it seems that they're about to install some penguin-flavored love in their computers in the form of Ubuntu. About a month ago, we discovered that Dell was considering Linux for its desktop and notebook computers, but we didn't know exactly what build of Linux they would be pre-installing.
Marketed as "Linux for human beings", Ubuntu is widely heralded as slick, easy-to-install, and easy-to-use, making it perfect for people who don't normally consider themselves tech-heads. Contrast this to the issues that Dell is having with Vista-powered machines, reverting to Windows XP in some cases.
It seems like the consumer is coming out the winner here. Choice is always a good thing, and you may soon have the opportunity to choose to avoid the Microsoft tax.
