Dell Computers Available Choice Vista XP

I didn't find the same scenario on the American website, but when I took a surf around the Dell Canada website, I discovered that a number of their computers -- both desktops and laptops -- are now available with a choice between Vista and Windows XP. Investigating further, I found that there was a contingent on the Dell support forums requesting that the computer maker bring back the old operating system. According to the BBC, these people were not pleased with the incompatibility of Vista and wanted the choice of going with an OS that they knew worked.

From what I can gather, Windows XP (Home or Professional) will be available for a short while longer for most of the mainstream systems offered through Dell Canada. On the laptop side, this includes the Inspiron 1501, 9400, 640m, and 6400, whereas on the desktop side, you can get XP on the Dimension C521, E521, and E520, as well as the XPS 710. There is no premium either way, so your choice of XP or Vista will not affect your final price.

Where do you stand on the Vista issue? Are you a fan of the Aero effects or are you tired of the problems that have arisen thus far? Or are you going to wait for a Linux-powered Dell.
