Apple has made and sold 100 milion iPODs

The Cupertino crew has recently made public that they have hit the 100 milion milestone with the Apple iPOD, an important achievment for them. Have in mind the fact that before November 2001, the iPOD market didn't really exist and now this product made Apple far more known to the world wide public, then it was five - ten years ago.

This milestone of 100 milion units includes all the models and generations of iPOD(mini, nano, shuffle). It is also connected to the success of the iTunes online music store and the iTunes themselves.


Steve Jobs thanked all the music lovers around the world for contributing to the iPOD's great success: "At this historic milestone, we want to thank music lovers everywhere for making iPod such an incredible success. iPod has helped millions of people around the world rekindle their passion for music, and we're thrilled to be a part of that".
