After all that drama, this is the conclusion that they come to? Instead of one party paying the other truckloads of money to own the iPhone moniker outright, Cisco (Linksys) and Apple have come to an agreement wherein both companies get to use the iPhone name. The average consumer will never confuse the two products, but as Brian Lam mentioned over at Gizmodo, "Search engines, on the other hand..."

Steve Jobs and the rest of the Cupertino crew don't need to pay any sort of royalty to Cisco, but they do have to explore "wide-ranging 'interoperability between the companies' products in the areas of security, consumer and business communications." In other words, they have to sit in the same sandbox, play nice, and share their toys.
