Smart Nanobattery from mPhase Technologies

Many of us go through MP3 players and cell phones like there's no tomorrow, and as a result, we find a lot of batteries improperly disposed of in our landfills. mPhase Technologies is claiming that their new Smart Nanobattery is "green", because they contain "some cells [that] create the neutralizing chemical reaction at the end of life." When it comes time to chuck away that old battery, it neutralizes itself, effectively minimizing the environmental impact.


They say that this is "based on a breakthrough in micro fluidics research." These "Smart Batteries" can easily be deployed in a number of devices including those for defence, industrial and consumer electronics purposes. Advanced chemistries, no nasty mess to clean up afterwards.
