Artimi wireless USB solution that can transfer 1GB in about half a minute

Cut those cables and weed out the wires, because wireless USB is on its way and it could be just as speedy as its tethered counterpart. Semiconductor-maker Artimi is claiming that their wireless USB solution -- consisting of a thumb drive-sized dongle -- can transfer 1GB of photos from a camera in about 30 seconds, all without those messy cables playing the middle man.


In addition to just plain old file moving, Artimi is also working on a set of webcams that make use of the new wireless innovation, though exact details are still a little murky. "Bigger names" are expected to be "jumping on the bandwagon by 2008."
