Insignia isn't the biggest player when it comes to the MP3 player game, but they're not out to bully the other children on the playground. Instead, they're releasing Amigo, an digital audio player that just wants to be your friend. Too bad it's a pretty boring friend.

The 1.2-inch OLED color display is a nice touch, but the package makes it look like any other flash-based, bar-shaped MP3 player. Measuring 3.1 x 1.3 x 0.5-inches, the Amigo can take on MP3s and WMAs (including the DRM'd stuff), as well as JPEGs. Other key features include a built-in FM tuner, support for album art, and "easy CD ripping", presumably using line-in encoding.

The Insignia Amigo is available at Best Buy (naturally, it's their in-house brand, after all) in either 1GB and 2GB flavours, priced at $99 and $129, respectively.
