Japan Brings Sotec Subnotebook

Looks like we have ourselves yet another netbook on our hands, because Onkyo Japan has just introduced the new Sotec DC101 minimum PC.

It’s a “minimum” PC, because it’s not, you know, a full-fledged computer.

Much like the countless other subnotebooks on the market, the Sotec-branded DC101 comes powered by the familiar Atom N270 (1.60GHz) processor. Other specs include a backlit 10.1-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 120GB hard drive, 1.3 megapixel webcam, memory card reader, a single USB port, and Windows XP. That sounds pretty similar to the MSI Wind if you ask me. You get two hours of battery life on a full charge.

Look for the Sotec DC101 in your choice of black or white for about $570 starting October 3. A $760 version with Microsoft Office will be offered as well, but both are meant for the Japanese market only.
