Acer announced a few days ago it will soon ship the 11.6-inch Ferrari One notebook to customers from the United States. The Ferrari One is considered a link between full-size notebooks and netbooks. It is relatively strong, its processing power being guaranteed by the 1.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor and the up to 4GB of RAM. It also has a 250GB, 5,400rpm hard drive that comes preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium.

The notebook is the newcomer in the Ferrari-branded series of notebooks from Acer and carries Ferrari shields and faux carbon fiber ornaments that confer a unique look. A dedicated shortcut button is a unique feature that allows users to be directed to Ferrari’s website. A F1-inspired wallpaper and calendar come preloaded. Tire-shaped grips hold the PC in place on flat surfaces. Other more traditional computer features like a full-sized keyboard, a multi-touch trackpad, a gigabit Ethernet, a Wi-Fi connection, a VGA output and three USB 2.0 ports are present. There is also an optical drive and an integrated webcam, as well as a six-cell battery that is believed to provide five hours of run time. The notebook is weighing 3.3lbs without this battery.

Acer’s Ferrari One is available and has a price of $600.
