The thinnest business system from Dell

Dell presented, on December 7, 2009, what could be a potentially addition to its Vostro PCs. A budget alternative to Adamo, called V13, is very thin, with only 0.65 inches, and has a weight of less than 3.5 pounds. Despite the dimensions, V13 still benefits from Adamo’s eSATA, Ethernet, USB and card reader. The video output, though, is not as luxurious as the system’s DisplayPort, being VGA-only.

Actual specifications for the new Vostro are yet to be announced by the Texas PC manufacturer, even though some publications rumor about the system running on Intel CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) Celeron, Pentium or Core 2. It could also serve as a business alternative for Inspiron 11z, a thicker, home-oriented system. V13 could be the thinnest system in this category.

Dell has already specified that V13’s price will start from $449, being 1/3 the price of Adamo 13 or Macbook Air, the starting point for the earlier version of Windows PC.
