Leaked documents from Hewlett Packard have confirmed new processors and video cards would soon equip its computers. The HP all-in-one PCs will be updated with a new Pavilion version in April next year, expected to use dual-core desktop processors Core i3 and Core i5. The key features for Core i5 are Turbo Boost which overclocks some cores and shuts down others and also hardware acceleration of AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption. Core i3 will be based on the same architecture.

TouchSmart 600 PCs and Pavilion notebooks should get dual-core mobile processors Core i5 and Core i7. They are already known as consuming about 35W of power and having lower clock speeds than the desktop equivalents, but they will use Turbo Boost and Hyperthreading. The amount of L2 cache memory will peak at 4MB for Core i7-based devices.

The same sources say that the Pavilion and Pavilion Elite towers should get new AMD ATI Radeon HD cards too. The Radeon HD 5350, one of the less expensive AMD models, with 1GB of video memory, HDMI, DVI and VGA output is expected to show up at the Consumer Electronics Show. The Radeon HD 5570 should be unveiled after mid-February 2010 and should drop VGA in favour of DisplyPort. It should also have a very large video memory of 2GB. According to the naming policy, the card should have better overall performance than the 5300 series, but also lower than the 5700 series that is already shipping.
