Cisco Systems has recently made official the presentation of the FlipShare, a TV wireless streaming system filed in FCC late last month. According to earlier suppositions, the system is designed to transmit video signals from a computer to a TV set. The FlipShare device has a remarkably simple design, like Cisco Systems’ Flip recorders, and the kit includes a USB key to connect to the computer. At the same time, a small box receives the signal on the TV side. The USB device offers a range of up to 200 feet and the Wi-Fi components are built into the system. Connections to standard TVs or high-definition TVs are available through HDMI and RCA connectors. An included remote is used to control playback when the user is away from the computer.

The configuration of the FlipShare TV is currently limited to video playback of content recorded on Flip camcorders. The hardware is however able to stream video to the TV, but users need separate equipment when transmitting other downloaded content or videos from the web.

The FlipShare TV will start shipping soon and will be priced at $150. The FlipShare TV system can work with Windows and Mac systems equally.
