Creative’s speaker docks for iPods

On December 2nd, 2009, at the Zii Summit in Singapore, Creative presented some new speaker docks, under the ZiiSound brand. The speakers won’t benefit from Creative’s Zii stemcell integrated processor, despite their name. ZiiSound D5 iPod dock has a wireless iPod connector and transfers audio files to the speakers through a Bluetooth connection.
The dock will also be used as a charger for iPods and iPhones; it has a built-in 3.5mm audio jack for connecting to other portable music devices or PCs, through the headphone output.
The official price for the ZiiSound D5 hasn’t been announced yet, but it seems that it is most likely to cost around $300. Speakers should start shipping somewhere in the beginning of 2010. There is also rumored that another version of the dock, called ZiiSound D3, could soon be available, being compatible with the Zii Egg multimedia player.
