On December 2nd, 2009, Samsung presented the Gold Edition of the Omnia HD smartphone, also named i8910 HD. The new special version benefits from a 24K gold inlay around its screen; it is both available in gold and brown. This version of the touchscreen ships with a leather case and a TV output cable, which allows users to watch the device’s videos on larger displays.
The device is based on Symbian S60 OS, being capable of recording 720p video and playback, thanks to an 8-megapixel camera and video technology. It also has a 16GB built-in memory, the same as the classic version of Omnia HD. Other features include a built-in FM radio tuner, 3G HSPA network support, integrated GPS, with turn-by-turn driving directions.
The ship date for the i8910 HD Gold Edition is scheduled for late December, in Singapore, Germany and the Middle East. Prices have not been announced yet.
