Universal presents dual-format discs – DVD and Blu-ray

A new dual-format disc has been presented by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The disc contains both standard DVD and Blu-ray content and is meant for users intending to upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray format in the near future or for those owning multiple systems that use both formats. The full film and special features also are contained on each side of the “flipper” disc. The specifications of the disc are listed as BD-59 and sports a 9GB dual-layer DVD surface with a 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray side.
The first discs can be purchased with the whole trilogy of action movies of Jason Bourne. The flipper discs will be released in mid-January next year, but Universal has not mentioned at what price.
