An FCC filling (PDF) could be a sign that Dell is planning to seriously revise its Mini 10 netbook. Tests made for the 802.11n Wi-Fi mini-card are based on a 10-inch system, a model named P04T, which doesn’t seem to correspond to any up to date released Dell notebook. There are some other details available too.

The size and the timing of the new system shows that this could use Intel’s Pine Trail-based Atom platform, which would surely need a new certification, because the design could use a new chipset, not yet tested by the FCC.

Pine Trail is based on a smaller Atom chip (named Pineview), more efficient in the use of energy, with integrated graphics hardware. More and more people claim that systems based on the new platform could be shipping starting January. Among these systems, it is rumored a new Fujitsu model, which has also been spotted at the FCC.
