The Liquid A1, the first Android-powered smartphone of Acer, is expected in the United Kingdom these days. The handset will rely on a 768MHz version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon, which is a detuned model of the full 1GHz processor. The UK retailer Clove will be able to offer Acer’s Liquid A1 for the equivalent of $480 and it expects a high demand of handsets. The release date for the North American market is still unknown, but expectations are to happen very soon.

The Liquid A1 has a capacitive touchscreen 3.5-inch sized with a 800×480 resolution. It also sports HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, Wi-Fi and a GPS sensor. The camera is a five-megapixel one. The handset does not run on the Android 2.0 platform, but relies on the Android 1.6 instead.
