Two Exilim cameras were upgraded to focus on low-light image quality. These are the EX-FH25 superzoom and the EX-FC150 compact, both having backlit Exmor R CMOS sensors, like the Sony TX1. This helps to take in more light and to improve the detail for both portraits of backlit subjects and night scenes. Both models sport dedicated scene modes.
The flagship of the series is still the EX-FH25 camera with ten megapixels and 20× optical zoom. The resolution could drop to nine megapixels when shooting at 40 frames per second, more than the FH20 with seven frames per second. Both the FH25 and the FC150 with 5× zoom can shoot 720-pixel video and provide hardware image stabilization.
Both cameras are planned to ship to Japan on November 27th and prices are equivalent to $558 for the EX-FH25 and $447 for the EX-FC150. An American release is not yet planned but is possible in the future, as Casio already sells the new cameras’ predecessors in the United States.
