The Solo line-up of ioSafe was completed a few days ago with the new announced desktop hard drive that became the flagship of the series. Like all other members of the range, the new device is waterproof and fireproof. Capacities are up to 2TB. It can be submerged in fresh or saltwater for three days in up to 10 feet and also can resist at temperatures of up to 1,550 degrees Fahrenheit. The only USB 2.0 interface is used to connect the device to either Windows PCs or Mc Intosh. There is a three-year warranty and a $1,000 data recovery service available. Users can choose to bolt down or to secure the drive to the mounting to prevent theft by using a cable, while there are no built-in software security measures.
The 500GB ioSafe Solo drive is available for a price of $149, while the 2TB ioSafe Solo can be purchased at a price of $399.
