An image showing a Cellebrite device screen displaying a handset called TG01CV is an indication that the 1GHz Qualcomm-powered Toshiba TG01 smartphone could come soon into Verizon’s network. The Cellebrite device is used to perform transfers of database content between handsets and implies that Verizon gets ready with its system to be able to accept the new phone.
The Toshiba TG01 has already passed FCC testing and is now certified as being able to connect in both Verizon and Sprint networks.
The Toshiba TG01 smartphone sports a 4.1-inch touchscreen with a 480×800-pixel resolution, 512MB of internal memory expandable by a card slot to receive microSD memory, an accelerometer, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth A2DP support, assisted GPS functionality and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It will ship with Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5. Shipping dates, as well as price information, are not known yet.
