The latest device presented by MOTU is the UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid, an audio interface that provides two microphone/instrument inputs, six line-level analogue inputs, ten channels of analogue output, S/PDIF digital output and a port for headphones. Connection options available are FireWire and USB 2.0. The hardware supports both Windows and Mac platforms. Having a wide range of connection options, the interface allows connection of DSP effects processing independently of the host computer. The users can use a CueMix FX digital mixer to route all signals without latency and also apply a variety of filters, like reverb, and adjust the levels with the seven-band equalizer. A conventional compressor and a Leveler modelled after the LA-2A optical compressor are also included.
Shipping for the UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid is expected later this year and the price is likely to be the same as its predecessor’s, the UltraLite-mk3.
