Motorola Droid, recently launched, will be updated on December 11th, according to a document leaked from Verizon. The Motorola Droid, launched a week ago, will support an over-the-air update that will cure a defined list of software issues The update will address a number of issues, such as adding notification icons when sending e-mails, adding nesting folders in Exchange Active Sync e-mail, fixing lock-up when trying to edit large invite lists. The document is addressed to Verizon Tech Support representatives.

Other issues refer to accepting a calendar appointment received by e-mail or recognizing attachments, other than pictures, when Google Mail is Active Synced.

Other fixes address a delayed notification of a New Voice Mail, or incorrect date/time in case of sending videos over Bluetooth. Some users report not being able to activate three-way calling or the Add Call soft key having no effect when running three-way calls. Another fix will refer to the number of characters in a message. Fixes are also related to the inability of transferring contacts when using Bluetooth or to the delay before incoming calls or message after activation. There is also a problem with the ability of automatically focusing the camera and this will be resolved in the announced update.

Some of the above presented issues will be resolved on January 22nd, in a second update.

The main reason that so many problems exist is that the phone has many capabilities. Because of so many features, there are many potential bugs. Moreover, Android has many features. There are many problems, but users should be grateful that Verizon, Motorola and Google are meticulously tracking all of the announced issues and working to release an OTA fix for all of them.
