Owners of Mac mini’s current generation have received good news from AMEX Digital. They can buy a Blu-ray drive upgrade kit for the price of $199.
A slot-load SATA drive allows the Mac mini to burn Blu-ray discs in applications that support reading and burning Blu-ray media at speeds up to 4X. Even if Macs do not yet play Blu-ray movie files directly, AMEX recommends the use of the VLC for video files loading. Access to the regular movie playback is granted buy Boot Camp.
The Hong Kong-based AMEX Digital does not provide the installation or software by itself, but suggests Mac users to use Roxio Toast 9+ for burning media and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 movie editing tool.
