New LCDs and Desktops from HP

A pair of business-focused LCD displays and two desktops were recently launched by Hewlett Packard.

The LE1711 and the LE1911 are eco-friendly monitors that meet the latest Energy Star requirements. They use conventional backlights, but mercury us was lowered to 50 percent and there is no use of toxics like PVC, BFRs or arsenic.

Both displays have a maximum resolution of 1,280×1,024 with 1,000:1 contrast ratios, a 5-millisecond response time, 250cd/m2 brightness and VGA for input. The LE1711 and the LE1911 have 17-inch and 19-inch diagonally, respectively. The prices are $125 for the LE1711 and $164 for the larger screen and they are both available for purchasing.

The two new desktops are the Intel-based Pro 3000 and the AMD-based Pro 3005, both of them completing the mid-range business line of PCs for Windows 7. They come in a glossy black case and will not be available until December 15th. The Pro 3000 is equipped with a Pentium dual-core processor and can scale up to Core 2 Duo/Quad, while the Pro3005 is based on the Athlon II X2 and can go up to the Phenom II X4 chip. They both can have up to 8GB of DD3 RAM and are sporting 160GB up to 500GB hard disk drives and read-only DVD drives. Blu-ray burners are also possible. The two desktops are also integrated graphics or a Radeon HD 4350, HD 4650 or a GeForce 210. Prices start at $469 and $449, respectively.
