The 27-inch iMac is already prepared for shipping. The new iMac is equipped with a quad-core Intel Core i5 or Core i7 “Nehalem” processor.

The system has the following specifications: a 27-inch LED-backlit display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, perfect for high definition video, and a 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution, equipped with the VESA Mount Adapter Kit for wall mounting and articulating arms, 4GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive. The integrated ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics processor provides faster, smoother and clearer graphics. The iMac sports a wireless keyboard and a wireless multitouch Magic Mouse, as well as a tiny built-in iSight camera allowing video chat, video shooting or taking snapshots. The Mini DisplayPort allows connecting an external display, like the Apple LED Cinema Display. The same port also offers input so that any external source that has DisplayPort output, such as a MacBook or MacBook Pro can use your iMac as a display. Transferring your photos and videos to and from the iMac is a piece of cake by using the SD card slot built in. By just inserting your camera’s memory card, you can import your photos to iPhoto. Bring on your iPod, digital camera, mobile phone, and external hard drive. If it has a cable, iMac has a port for it. Four USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire 800 port can easily allow an iPod, a camera, a mobile phone or an external hard drive to connect to the iMac.

The iMac is designed to be energy efficient and has earned the EPA’s ENERGY STAR qualification for its low power consumption.
