The five-inch AMP (Android Media Platform) MID (mobile Internet device) is now available to developers. The MOTO Development Group has made it possible. The device runs Google’s Android 2.0 mobile operating system and allows developers to extend hardware features, develop applications and prototype interfaces. The MID is based on a Texas Instruments OMAP3430 CPU and has a five-inch OLED capacitive touchscreen. An LCD having the same size is also available. The AMP still sports high-end home device features, such as an eight-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, with an optional 3G module. An USB port and an SD card slot used for expansion are also featured. The device also has a three-axis built-in accelerometer and a 3,000mAh battery.

A 3.5-inch and a 10-inch touchscreens that use different versions of OMAP processors are developed by MOTO and will eventually be available in 2010. Pricing information lacks for all these three devices.
