Will Dell’s Adamo XPS Have a Greater Price than MacBook Air?

The Adamo XPS is the thinnest notebook and has 0.39 inches measured at its thickest point. Most of the components are included in the display section and, despite being so slim, it still has a removable battery, DisplayPort output and two USB ports. The Adamo XPS notebook is weighing slightly more than its rival, the MacBook Air, at 3.2 pounds. A stand at the back of the notebook bends the keyboard at an angle towards the user and leans on top of the battery. This should allow air to better circulate and might help with overheating problems.

Described by some people as a work of art or a peak of engineering rather than a functional notebook, Dell’s Adamo XPS has a locking mechanism that seals the system and only unfolds itself when the owner swipes a finger over a heat-sensitive touch strip. It does not have full GPS but provides location awareness. The Adamo XPS has a CULV 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4GB of RAM and a solid-state driver of 128GB. A significantly fast NVIDIA integrated graphics is included. Built-in 802.11n wireless, two USB 2.0 ports and Ethernet connection are provided. Due to its slimness, the battery only provides two hours of runtime independence, but an extended battery can bring it to 5.25 hours. The operating system is Windows 7, as expected.

The exact release date is not yet specified but will the Adamo XPS will probably be in time for the Christmas market. The price, as far as information has been provided, seems to be $1,799, as much as a top MacBook Air with a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo S processor and a built-in battery supporting up to five hours of life.
