ViewSonic announced in the beginning of the week, the launch of the new VMP70 media hub, allowing users, this way, to run their photo, music and video files on traditional TVs. Video files can be upconverted to 1080p quality and even if there is no Internet connection, users can use the two USB ports for adding content.
Multiple video formats are supported, including MPEG 1/2/4, DivX/Xvid, H.264, VC1 and RM/RMVB. This can also be said for audio formats: WMA, MP3, OGG, AAC and more. There is a HDMI video output, both component and composite, and analog audio, optical and digital coaxial for audio outputs. DTS and Dolby Digital surround sound formats are also supported by the VMP70.
The new ViewSonic’s media hub, VMP70, is already available at $130, but the price is expected to go down closer to the holidays, reaching $99.
