The three scanning pens included in the new Planon line-up, the X05, the X10 and the X50 are based on a 200MHz processor, while the internal memory is 64MB large.
The documents are scanned using the Crystal Line Contact technology and the contents are sent through the integrated Bluetooth connection to compatible devices like desktops, notebooks, netbooks or smartphones to be edited, stored or sent through e-mail as attachments. There also is a much brighter integrated OLED display. The built-in battery is lithium-polymer, is lighter and lasts a longer time than the previous models’ batteries.
The DocuPen Xtreme X05 and X10 support 600DPI resolution and can scan in black and white or 24-bit colour mode. The DocuPen Xtreme X50 is scanning at 1,200DPI and is adding a greyscale mode. By using a copy function, images be directly scanned to Planon Printstik printers and be used as hard copies. The battery can be recharged using a USB 2.0 connection. This connection doubles the speed of the files to be transferred from and to devices. A microSD memory card can expand the built-in memory.
Prices for the DocuPen Xtreme X-Series devices start at $370.
