A teaser page was posted by T-Mobile UK announcing the launch of the first Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone using a capacitive multi-input touchscreen. The event will happen in sometime in November but the exact \date is not known yet and pricing information as well. Visitors of the site are invited to register and receive further information about the handset.

The HTC Touch HD2 is still expected in the United States, as shipping is scheduled for the beginning of next year. It’s true that the teaser page does not show the HD2 phone, but its predecessor, the HTC Touch HD, which might be an error made by T-Mobile UK, as well as an error is the invitation addressed to the users to access the Android marketplace to download applications for the HD2, while almost everybody knows that the HTC Touch HD2 is a non-Android device.

Speaking of the HTC Touch HD2, it will have a 4.3-inch touchscreen with 480×800 resolution, a five-megapixel camera with auto focus and dual LED flash, an accelerometer, a built-in GPS sensor, a 3.5-millimeter audio jack and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR functionality. The handset is the first non-Android HTC which uses the Sense UI and allows the users to customize their home screens with frequently used websites or applications.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would want this phone, now that the Android phones are out, especially Motorola’s new Droid.

HTC has put its very nice interface on the front of the phone. Problem is, when you delve under the surface you find the horrible Windows Mobile operating system underneath, which was never designed for a multi-touch interface. It becomes more problematic when you use a phone with a capacitive touch-screen interface, combined with an operating system which was designed for a stylus pen.

I think the Android phones are much more capable handsets.
